Happy #CocktailFriday! Celebrating one’s first week at a new job calls for margaritas!! Nothing says party quite like a margarita and to blow my own horn I make a pretty good one too!

To make one of the most drinkable margaritas simply add to a blender:
Generous amount of ice, 30ml good tequila, 30ml Cointreau, 30ml fresh lemon juice, 30ml of sugar syrup - blend till the ice is in small chunks

A margarita isn’t a margarita without a salt rim. Coat the rim of the glass with lemon juice by running a lemon wedge around the rim. On a plate pour a small amount of salt flakes and run the rim through the salt to get even coverage.

Finally garnish with a lemon wheel.

Tonight we’re hanging at the opera bar which is the perfect venue on a Friday afternoon when the sun is shining

Happy #CocktailFriday! Tonight im happily sipping on a passion fruit callipso as i get ready for a big camping weekend away. Which also means not enough time for a full post tonight;(

Regardless tonight’s concoction is a blended marvel with a passion fruit tang , silky sweet undertones of vanilla and a vodka kick.

Blend ice with 30ml vodka, 30ml Cointreau, a tablespoon passion fruit pulp and a teaspoon of vanilla extract.

#CocktailFriday - Martini

Happy #Cocktail Friday! Tonight we’re drinking a classic, Martinis.

Despite being sick all week and despite protestations from the adorable Callen, it is still Friday and still #CocktailFriday.

Now because of said sickness, I figured a martini was as close to medicincal as you can get. so I’m hoping that makes it okay.

Martinis are not for the faint hearted. They pack a punch but nothing says cocktail, sophistication or suave quite like a martini.

I like my martinis dry, clean and very cold.

In a cocktail shaker packed full of ice, add 45ml vodka straight from the freezer and 15ml dry vermouth ( I use extra dry cinzano).

Here’s the important bit - unless you are a James Bond wannabe - gently stir your martini. Shaking will dissapate the alcohol and make your martini cloudy.

Pur into a chilled martini glass and garnish with an olive or two (make sure the olives are washed - unless you like it dirty).
